La Odisea

When looking for a restaurant in Málaga with an attractive wine list, you cannot ignore the Restaurant / Tapas Bar / Wine Bar and wine shop, i.e. La Odisea.

Located a bit out of the way from the center, on the way to the bull arena or the Gibralfaro viewpoint, apparently not with some great view, but being on a hill, it definitely stands out especially during the blooming oranges. The restaurant attracts visitors with its interior, because there are barrels of sweet wine from Malaga, traditional decor and a hidden patio with a fountain, while outside, blooming orange and citrus trees. However, it attracts the most with food and an interesting wine list, which offers, among others, sweet wines from Malaga and dry wines from Ronda. including one of my favorite wineries - Descalzos Viejos.

The menu includes tapas for € 3, half portions for € 6 and whole portions for €12. In my photos you can see tapas and half portions, which are huge and very filling. I recommend ordering sheep's cheese, zanahoria andalusi (carrot salad), remolacha moruna (beetroot salad), flamenquin (meat balls).

I have warm and nice associations with this place, maybe because every year, traditionally from Written from Seville, we come here in December to eat a pre Christmas dinner. Always sitting in the rays of the December sun among the oranges that surround us, we sip our favorite wine summarizing the season. Why here? Because there are no crowds, there is good food, our favorite wine and close to the beaches :) and we just like to come back here :)

You will find La Odisea at 1 S ubida Coracha.
