La Tranca

This is an iconic place in Malaga. Loved by residents and tourists to such an extent that it is not easy to find a table, even a piece of a stool or a bar to resist, but for this food and atmosphere it is worth waiting.

La Tranca is a typical tapas bar, which has kept its authentic atmosphere, decor (despite the change of location some time ago) and above all the quality of the food served at an affordable price. As befits such traditional places, there is little space in it (although believe me there is twice as much as in the previous location), tapas are eaten at the bar, or small tables made of barrels and countertops or standing. Actually, eating tapas and drinking wine standing up in a group is very typical, to the extent that La Tranca customers stand and eat even in front of the premises, on the street - yes and they still have fun, talk, order and nobody bothers;) a fee place here is almost impossible, so it is worth coming before malagenos or at lunch - the chances are then greater.

As befits a real tapas bar, most of the dishes served are displayed on the bar, which suits me personally - in a hurry I do not have to think much longer. I recommend the avocado salad served in avocado shell with shrimp, stuffed peppers (pimientos rellenos) or meatballs. Tapas are for very affordable prices around 2.5 €, other dishes up to 9 € (menus can be found in the gallery). The bill, as it used to be in traditional Malaga, written in chalk on the counter :)

You can find La Trance at C alle Carretería, 92.  My map of all Tapas Bars in Málaga for download on your Google Maps on your phone and computer - HERE
