FATE GATOS

Certainly, everyone who comes to Spain is looking for places where they could taste traditional tapas or feel the real Spanish atmosphere. There are many such places in Malaga, but Cerveceria Los Gatos is a tapas bar that is unique in every respect.

The name is related to the colloquial term for the Spaniards from Madrid, or "gatos" (malaguenos are boquerones, and Barcelonaians ATTENTION! - los polacos). The first Los Gatos was opened in the capital city 30 years ago, and in April 2012 its owner Miguel decided to return to his hometown and repeat his success in Málaga.

The menu includes tapas typical of this region (seafood, croquettes, jamon, fries with eggs), but unparalleled anywhere else are canapas, i.e. delicious sandwiches with seafood, meat and cheese served in various forms (I especially recommend goat cheese with caramelized onion;) Based on my experience, I suggest that larger groups should order a mix of 6 or 12 canapes. We never know what sandwiches will be served, so you can get to know Spanish cuisine and flavors better.

In addition to the great delicacies of Los Gatos, it is primarily a real Spanish atmosphere. Kllimat of this place is created by the waiters themselves, who are always friendly and talkative. In addition, the decor is of great importance here, resembling a tabernacle from the past, with pictures of historic Malaga and a huge bull situated between the chairs. It's hard to find a table here after 22, but like nowhere else it is worth waiting for. As well as an intimate, quiet place, because in typical local restaurants you can feel that the Spaniards are a very loud nation.

Each meeting in Los Gatos is like an adventure with real Spain, which always ends with a glass of champagne and candies, served at the expense of the restaurant. I guarantee that this place will charm you and you will be delighted :)

You can find Los Gatos at Plaza Uncibay 9. A map here
