Soho Málaga and the Centro de Arte

Soho is an artistic district of Malaga and at the same time a dream place for fans of street art such as murals.

Soho is located between the Muello Uno port and the main Alameda street.

It seems to be still a district unknown to many, despite its excellent location and city center. Thanks to the initiative of its residents and local restaurateurs, a promenade was created, the streets have been renovated and are still being renovated, thanks to which new places are opened, and the area  becomes more attractive.

It is a district where you can feel a real artistic atmosphere. They are created by the shops, restaurants and even hairdressers themselves. In addition, it is fueled by graffti, which can be found literally everywhere - in small streets, blocks or abandoned buildings. It is almost a Mecca for fans of murals, we ourselves counted about 40 of them! They make a real impression and in order to look for them, it is worth simply "getting lost" between the streets, finding new and more inventive ones.

The gems of the district also include the Comic Store (a real American comic store straight from the series The Big Bang Theory), Laboratorio de sabores (cooking school),  Sala-Teatr Chelamar (theater performances, salsa and tango classes), or Centro de Arte  Contemporáneo (Center  Contemporary Art). In addition, the recently opened Teatro Flamenco.

CAC - Center for Contemporary Art was opened on February 17, 2003. and enjoys great interest, both from visitors and world-famous artists -  Louise Bourgeois, the Chapman brothers, Paul McCarthy, Raymond Pettibon and Marina Abramović. Importantly - admission is free. Current exhibitions can be found on the CAC website.

Every Saturday and Sunday in Soho there is a Garage Markter - an alternative art, handicraft and antiques market. It is definitely worth a treasure hunt as well  to see what a treasure the Soho de Malaga itself is;)
