The end carnival ( Carnaval de Málaga ) always means the upcoming next great event, which is Semana Santa . For those who have never had the opportunity to see the celebration of this festival, smell the incense and hear the music - there is one place in Malaga that will make it up to you.
Las Merchanas restaurant is not an ordinary eatery or one of many. Here, the decor, smell, music, everything is related to Semana Santa and referring to Holy Week. Pictures of processions, holy paintings, Hrabst costumes or even large balls made of wax. Additionally the smell of incense, typical of Semana Santa, as well movies presenting Last year's processions and music will make you feel this extraordinary to a small extent climate of very important events for malaquenos :)
Everything is Semana here Santa and perfectly reflects the nature of the holiday.
Of course, apart from the decor and atmosphere, you will find here a typical Malaga cuisine. I especially recommend bacalao and croquetas de la abuela, seafood or berenjenas con miel (eggplant with honey) - really delicious!
It is one of those places that I recommend to all my guests. You will find there a typical Spanish atmosphere, good cuisine and amazing impressions :)
It must be on your list of good restaurants in Malaga, I can't imagine that you can skip this place;)
You can find Las Merchanas at Calle Mosquera, 5 near Dulces Dreams.
